The International Mountain Bicycling Association (IMBA) is a non-profit organization dedicated to creating, enhancing, and preserving great mountain biking experiences. IMBA's mission is to create, enhance, and protect great places to ride mountain bikes, and to promote responsible mountain biking practices that benefit everyone.
As a chapter member of IMBA, the Ozark Off Road Cyclists (OORC) benefits from IMBA's expertise in trail design, construction, and maintenance, as well as advocacy efforts on behalf of mountain bikers. The OORC works closely with IMBA to ensure that the trails they build and maintain are sustainable, environmentally responsible, and enjoyable for riders of all skill levels.
Since its founding in 1997, the OORC has been dedicated to building and maintaining soft surface trails in the Arkansas Ozarks and Arkansas River Valley. The organization's efforts have helped to create a thriving outdoor community in the region, with opportunities for hikers, mountain bikers, and trail runners to enjoy the natural beauty of the area. The OORC regularly partners with local, state, and federal land managers to ensure that their trail-building efforts are in compliance with environmental regulations and conservation principles.
In addition to building and maintaining trails, the OORC is also committed to advocating for appropriate multi-use trail systems that benefit all trail users. The organization believes that trails should be accessible to a wide range of users, and that a collaborative approach is necessary to ensure that everyone's needs are met. As a chapter member of IMBA, the OORC is part of a larger network of organizations and individuals who share this commitment to sustainable, responsible, and enjoyable mountain biking experiences.

This week we have Tuesday night group rides and trail luv at Kessler on Saturday. You can catch a bunch of @oorc_race_team members racing on Friday and Sunday at Cent as well. Go cheer them on! Have a great week friends. Be kind and do some good! 🤘🏽🤘🏽

A full weekend comes to a close. After Saturdays full schedule we went even bigger today! Things kicked off early with OORC members doing bike tuneups at Lake Fayetteville while at the same time our branch @ozarktrailrunners was out clearing downed trees and debris at Devils Den. This brought us into the afternoon where our OORC women’s ride kicked off at Kessler while at the same time trail crew members were clearing corridor and putting those post hole diggers to work. Friends, that makes for a fun, full and rewarding day. Thanks to all who played in the dirt with us this weekend. Next up you can join us Tuesday for our weekly group rides. This week we depart from the smokehouse at 6pm. No drop and all levels welcome. More to come!

Another amazing trail luv day in the books. Faytown you never cease to amaze. You all cleared corridor on an entire half mile of new trail, harvested fallen Locust trees for reuse on skinnies/boardwalks and knocked out another 30’ boardwalk from start to finish. Wow! Thank you all and you crushed it. Tomorrow we are tuning bikes at Lake Fayetteville (9am marina) and Carrie is hosting a women’s ride and social out at Kessler at 2pm(weather pending). Let’s spring fwd friends! 🤘🏽🤘🏽

Friday at last friends. We have a ton of things happening this weekend but we kicked off Friday knocking out a “small” rock project, benched a bit and cleared some corridor. Reminder that closed trails are just that. Please acknowledge the signs as it just prolongs our work fixing ruts that shouldn’t be there. They will be open soon enough so please be patient. Now tomorrow we have a workday on Kessler. 8am and meeting in the playground lot. Girls only ride at 2pm meeting in that same lot. Sunday we have bike tunes at Lake Fay marina at 9 and a women’s ride at Kessler at 2pm from the playground lot. Come play in the dirt somewhere with us this weekend! 🤘🏽🤘🏽

Wow! We have been so busy we just realized we never shared our 2024 volunteer of the year for OORC. In this case actually it’s volunteers of the year. Michael Peters and Barry Barker! These two have and continue to give back 100’s of hours per year. Everything from weed whipping, tree clearing, tread repair, event setup and phone calls with local and state officials these two have done it all. Thanks to Michael and Barry for their love of giving back. If you see them out on the trail give them some kudos. They have earned it and then some.

Many many thanks to all! You guys are amazing. This week join Crystal on Monday for our social ride departing @fossilcovebrewing at 6pm. We then have Tuesday night rides, trail luv on Saturday and bike tunes at Lake Fayetteville on Sunday. Have a great week and make it count.

We have been out to worksite and we are going to cancel tomorrow’s official workday. We will get some melting today but not enough. Fear not as few of us will still be out working on a special project for you all. See you next week!

Saturday wrap up . Great group of volunteers out today. Conditions were not ideal for tread work so we worked on drainage and a feature or two. @faymtb @ozarktrailrunners and OORC all represented today. Thanks for coming out to play in the dirt!
